Dalton A. Skerritt MHE., FPC.

Biography

Dalton A. Skerritt is a leader in the Boston Community in the struggle to eliminate health and social disparities and inequities. Mr. Dalton A. Skerritt is the CEO and President of (CEHSID) Center for the Elimination of Health and Social Inequities and Disparities and is committed to the fight to help the under-privileged people of our communities. He organizes the Annual Health Disparities Symposium and other local community health events.  He has created several health models and theorems to combat inequities and disparities. His evidence base model called the ACAP has prevented many men and women from committing crime and improved public safety. His recent Awards include the Image Award from GBOS for men’s health and services in 2012 and the Public Safety Award in 2013 from the Commissioner of the Boston Police Department for the dedication and commitment to safety of the Boston Community

Mr. Skerritt is also a Board Member for (CCHERS) Center for Community Health Education Research and Services, Inc. He is a Power to End Stroke Ambassador for the American Heart, American Stroke Association and the first ever to receive the Power to End Stroke Health disparities Leadership Awards 2009. He is a Board Member Massachusetts Prostate Cancer Coalition and serves as a member of (MPCC) Massachusetts Prostate Cancer Coalition Annual Prostate Cancer Symposium Planning Committee. Mr. Skerritt is currently serving as a member of the Boston Public Health Commission Steering Committee of the Boston Reach Coalition. He is a faculty member of the (OWTI) outreach worker training Institute at the Central Mass AHEC located in Worcester Massachusetts.

He is an active member of the APHA and MACHW. Mr. Skerritt is the Minister of Music and Music Director for the Cornerstone Deliverance Ministries in Hyde Park Massachusetts. Mr. Skerritt humble beginnings started at the Roxbury Community College where majored in Biology and became the president of the Student Government Association of the Phi Theta Kappa National Honors Society. Mr. Skerritt went on to further his education at Boston University and Springfield College with a focus in human services. Today he is a leader in the Public Health arena and a (Men’s Health Educator) MHE.
