Prostate Cancer Awareness

September is Prostate Cancer Awareness month

CEHSID Inc, is very compassionate about communities of men of color, who are at high risk for Prostate Cancer. We urge all men of color over the age of 40 to start having a dialogue with their primary care physician. If you have a family history of Prostate Cancer, please speak to your primary care physician even earlier in age.

Men of color need to know their family history, risk factors and available treatments for Prostate Cancer. 1 in6 men of color are at risk for Prostate Cancer. Screening and early detection are important in the fight against Prostate Cancer. The cancer disparities among men of color: Black men, Latinos, African American men and men of the African Diaspora are often too high.

Let us change the horrible outcomes of Prostate Cancer among men of color by driving awareness on the disease. Please feel free to contact CEHSID Inc. for more info on Prostate Cancer. Every year more than 34,000 men die of Prostate Cancer in the USA alone.

CEHSID Inc.Prostate Cancer Mini Symposium,Thursday July 26th 2018

Prostate Health education is critical in combatting cancer disparities among high risk populations and men who lack the resources to help themselves. It is important that men, their families and friends be informed because it creates a support network and alarm system of pre-caution and preventive health. Many men wait until it is too late to have better options to treat prostate cancer. Sometimes encouragement from spouses, friends or someone of influence in the man’s life helps with the decision factor to seek help, screening, test or treatment.

This Symposium gives men the opportunity to ask questions, discuss options and also information about new developments in treating prostate cancer. It also bring men together to share experiences and testimonies. The sharing of best practices and resources among men’s health organizations or agencies is also very beneficial to symposium participants.

The Speaker at the CEHSID Inc. Prostate Cancer Symposium will be Dalton A. Skerritt a men’s health educator and community leader that has supported community and government programs to improve the health of men, women and children for over 20 years.
