GLOBAL HEALTH EDUCATIONAL TOOL (CEHSID INC.)

UTILIZING A RIDESHARE PLATFORM LIKE UBER OR LYFT TO: EDUCATE THE PUBLIC ON CHRONIC DISEASES OR VERY IMPORTANT CURRENT ISSUES (Developed by Cehsid Inc.)

RIDESHARE HEALTH EDUCATION AND AWARENESS

One Uber driver utilized the Cehsid Innovative health care Model and was able to educate over a thousand men on Prostate cancer while driving. The simple conversation included the risk factors for Prostate cancer, the comparison to breast cancer, age of screening, types of test, diagnostics and a strong message to all men over forty who had concerns of family history to discuss it with their Primary care Physician, oncologist or an health care provider expert. This initiative was very effective in driving awareness. Some of the men were able to get screening through their provider and were thankful for the initiative to drive health awareness through utilizing rideshare as an innovative way to save lives of men from stage 4 Prostate cancer.

Educating men by meeting them where they are through a ride share environment has shown some success to provoke some men to proactively learn more about Prostate Cancer. Some data showed that even female riders were impacted enough that some accessed primary care for the first time because of the conversation held in the ride share about health.

Even though the population of focus was men and prostate cancer, many other interesting topics arose around access to health care. The rideshare driver is then able to refer that individual to CEHSID Inc. for free health workshops or access to health care via a referral to one of the many health centers or hospitals in the greater Boston area or across the state of Massachusetts, if the rider has no health insurance or primary care. It is as simple as giving the rider a flyer with all of the information. Preventing men from waiting too late to discuss prostate cancer with their provider and especially from stage four cancer or death  is one of the goals of Cehsid Inc. There is a free event coming up Friday May 4th 2018 at the Newton Marriot: 2345 Commonwealth Avenue, Newton MA from 7:30 AM to 2:00 PM: The 2018 Annual Prostate Cancer Symposium by MPCC. Cehsid Inc. believes that reaching people in multiple ways to educate them about health issues and other things in our community. Riders were amazed of the initiative by Cehsid to reach people through rideshare.

Prostate Cancer affects 1 in 7 men in comparison to 1 in 8 men and women for breast cancer. African Americans are at a 250 % higher mortality rate than any other group for prostate cancer. Admetech Foundation a leader in Prostate cancer advocacy has teamed up with many agencies. Dana Farber Cancer institute, Brigham and Women Hospital, Beth Israel, Tufts medical Center and Boston Medical Center are some of the medical facilities in Boston that are providing services for many individuals from our communities.
